Bio; 2026 Year-in-Review

Javan Mngrezzo is a dance artist, creator, and educator. He graduated from Western Oregon University in three years, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Dance and Sociology. Currently, he freelances while balancing his Pilates Certification and nonprofit arts-administration work. He is grateful for the resurgence of dance in his life following a brief hiatus. In his view, Art is what will heal and sustain Us.

2026 has already given Mngrezzo a few exciting career firsts – including a Northrup debut (Black Label Movement), a full week at CandyBox (Jake Nehrbass and Rachel Lieberman), a Bridge Fund supported Research Residency (Amez Dance), and a performance at Nicollet Island Pavilion with Strange Loop Projects.

Black Label Movement + Limón Dance Company’s long awaited return to come together for their Summer Intensive 2026 Residency ~ May 2026
Reviving Unfashioned Creature after touring to Arizona with Penelope Freeh and James Sewell Ballet last year ~ May 2026
Corpus Dance Works debut in Line of Scrimmage which is a Bridge Fund For Dance grant awarded premier ~ June 2026
Returning to creation with a world premier work at KASM Dance Collective’s 2026 Dances at the Lakes ~ July 2026
Touring to Taliesin with Black Label Movement; first tour of the year – ‘Architecture as Dance, Dance as Architecture’ ~ July 2026
